While at the PhotoPlus exhibition in October, Steve Kapsinow gave me a StockXpert t-shirt and lens cloth. I was understandably grateful and have made good use of both items.

Then I discovered an idea of another blogger who publishes a series of posts called Free Shirt Friday. How it works is simple. Companies in his niche send him t-shirts and he publishes a post about the company including a photo of himself wearing the t-shirt. They get free publicity and he gets a free t-shirt. What a great idea!

The Microstock Diaries version of Free Shirt Friday will be different in a few ways:

• Given the smaller niche, I’m keeping it open and calling it free ‘stuff’ so it doesn’t have to be t-shirts
• As this is a photography related blog, I’m going to stretch my photographic creativity in creating the photos
• I’m not necessarily doing it on Fridays

I’ve asked each microstock agency where I contribute for some branded free stuff to get the series started. The first post will be about StockXpert in recognition of their spontaneous gift.
