01 Dec 2008 Microstock Earnings Report November 2008

Earnings were down in November for a few reasons: there were five full weekends, only 30 days, more negative economic news and the Thanksgiving holiday in the US. I personally did almost no uploading or shooting during the month, reinforcing the ‘part time’ status of my microstock endeavor. So here’s the November results for a part-time microstocker.

Microstock Earnings Chart - November 2008

I only sold a single Extended License again this month, this time at Dreamstime.

Other microstockers have experienced a similarly slow month which is not surprising given the factors I mentioned above. Microstockers with Christmas themed images would have offset the negative effects to some degree this month.

December is always been lower than November for me and I’m not expecting this year to be any different.

My microstock earnings went up in November by 16%, but I added 100 pictures to my portfolio.

Much more downloads in small and X-small sizes, especially, at iStock.

November was down a little from October, but not too much. December is usually a fairly poor month for me.

Same as other, the earning in most of agencies are down except shutterstock in Nov. Shutterstock went up more, because I sold a single Extended License and have more On-demand downloads. In November the most down of sales is at istock, nearly 47%, the lowest earning in this year, and much more downloads in S and XS sizes. 🙁 🙁

For me, December also is not good month.

December isn’t good hm? Crud. I was hoping for a great big month! haha It’s hard when microstock is a part-time thing to make progress at your work. I think those who can do it “regularly” get into a habit. Like our “shoot daily, upload nightly” challenge earlier this year.

I was a few days late on my results for several reasons – I changed a LOT about how I’m going to track. But anyhoo – I finally got em up! Just say no to no-earning agencies! haha

I agree: December is usually lower than November. Traditionally, October and March are the month with the biggest income in stock…

December earnings is horrible for me at Dreamstime. Are there new microstock agencies I can join?

Well… StockXpert is really a bad site to make money. I don’t have good earnings there too. iStockphoto is better.
