Second Chance at Crestock

Posted by Lee Torrens

Crestock - Royalty Free Stock PhotographyAfter writing how I considered contributing to Crestock and then telling of my disastrous acceptance rate, there’s been some change. It seems Crestock have taken another look at some of my rejected photos and reversed their decision!

On two separate occassions, images from the rejected page on Crestock have disappeared and landed in my portfolio. The first incident was only one image. The second time I noticed there were three that had made the jump. I can’t be sure whether these three went together or separately.

I’m not going to complain to Crestock – I’m happy about what’s happened. But I do find it an odd thing to do, especially given I was not notified. I’m also curious to know what happened at Crestock to cause this outcome. Did they find an inspector had been unduly harsh and reviewed their work? Did they do a keyword search of the rejected list for images lacking in their portfolio?

Has anyone else had this experience?

Update 2007-07-01: Crestock contacted me to explain that certain images have been subject to re-evaluation and they’re addressing their processes to ensure contributors are notified when this happens.
