18 Jun 2007 Second Chance at Crestock
After writing how I considered contributing to Crestock and then telling of my disastrous acceptance rate, there’s been some change. It seems Crestock have taken another look at some of my rejected photos and reversed their decision!
On two separate occassions, images from the rejected page on Crestock have disappeared and landed in my portfolio. The first incident was only one image. The second time I noticed there were three that had made the jump. I can’t be sure whether these three went together or separately.
I’m not going to complain to Crestock – I’m happy about what’s happened. But I do find it an odd thing to do, especially given I was not notified. I’m also curious to know what happened at Crestock to cause this outcome. Did they find an inspector had been unduly harsh and reviewed their work? Did they do a keyword search of the rejected list for images lacking in their portfolio?
Has anyone else had this experience?
Update 2007-07-01: Crestock contacted me to explain that certain images have been subject to re-evaluation and they’re addressing their processes to ensure contributors are notified when this happens.

Posted at 10:38h, 21 JuneI find Crestock to have the strictest standards. Many of my photos which have been accepted at Istock (already strict) have been flat out rejected by Crestock. I don’t know if the time investment is worth it.

Posted at 03:49h, 29 SeptemberHi I’m trying to close my crestock account since few weeks without success. I would like to go exclusive elsewhere and I asked them to deactivate all my images (12 sept). My images are still there and they’re ignoring all the e-mails I’m sending them. What’s the matter with crestock?
best,
Marco
