10 Feb 2016 Shutterstock Partners with Fashion Photo Agency BFA for Exclusive Content
Shutterstock continues expanding their editorial division via the recently announced exclusive partnership with fashion and entertainment photo agency BFA, to distribute their content to Shutterstock’s Premier customers.
High-End Fashion Industry Partner
BFA is a photography agency specialised in fashion editorial. They have a high-profile client list that includes industry brands and companies like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, DVF, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Vogue, among many others, having access to important and prestigious events. According to the owners –photographers–, the company’s brand (BFA Images Matter) is centred around the quality and integrity of their content.
Through this new partnership Shutterstock will be offering their Premier clients access to the more than 1.7 million editorial images and videos from BFA’s collection.
This adds to Shutterstock’s editorial business, expanded last year with the acquisition of Rex Features and an exclusive distribution partnership with Penske Media.
General Manager for Shutterstock Editorial, Ben Pfeiffer, said the company is positioning itself as the go-to source for editorial content, and in tech development to make the image purchasing process as simple and fast as possible.
Premier Only
Interestingly, BFA’s content will be available only for clients of Shutterstock’s Premier service, and not to regular subscribers. Shutterstock doesn’t promote Premier very much in their general marketing (they have a dedicated sales team) and to my knowledge this is the first content that’s exclusive to those customers.
