20 Oct 2008 User Generated Content Conference and Expo
Mediabistro.com and Jupitermedia are putting together a massive exhibition and conference around the topic of User Generated Content, or UGC. It’s addressing five different areas of UGC, one of which is photography.
I’ve been working with the team to help identify speakers for the photography track, which has been an awesome experience. Our success in putting together an appealing lineup of speakers and panels has been spectacular! Selling participation in an event this size and on such a hot topic is easy.
Who Will Be There?
While we have a long list of speakers who’ve committed to participating, until we get formal confirmation it’s not a good idea to name them here. However, I can tell you that Bruce Livingstone and Kelly Thompson from iStockphoto will be tag-teaming on a keynote, Andres Rodriguez will be giving more advice on becoming a superstar UGC photographer, and Dreamstime will be represented by Ellen Boughn and Serban Enache.
As we get confirmations of other participants we’ll be announcing them via the UGCX Twitter account if you’d like to follow along.
Target Audience
The conference is targeting both creators of content and businesses who work with UGC. Some of the panels in the photography track will help photographers improve their success in microstock and other relevant sales channels. Other panels will help professional photographers explore how they can fit in with – or fit around – the new crowdsourced model engulfing the stock photo industry.
